Plot: Frodo Baggins lives in the Shire. His Uncle Bilbo Baggins is getting ready to celebrate 111th birthday and invites all Hobbits from the Shire. he gives a speech and then suddenly disappears. The Wizard Gandolf suspects something ad meets Bilbo in his house. They talk about the ring and before Bilbo leaves on another adventure he drops the ring and leaves it to Frodo. Gandolf tries to touch the ring but sees an evil eye. Frodo comes into the house looking for Bilbo and he sees Gandolf. Gandolf gives Frodo the ring in an envelope and tells him to keep it safe and a secret while he goes and does some studying on the ring. Gandolf returns to Frodo in the Shire and throws the ring into the fire, asks Frodo if he sees anything and then there are words in an ancient writing that appear on the ring. Gandolf tells Frodo he must get out of the Shire and take the ring to the Prancing Pony Inn. He would meet him there. Gandolf never shows but a Ranger is in the shadows watching Frodo and the three other Hobbits that have come along with him. They get to the Prancing Pony but not before Evil Black Riders are chasing them to get the ring from Frodo.

While at the Prancing Pony Frodo comes across a Ranger who goes by the name Strider. Strider watches Frodo and the other Hobbits. During this time Frodo gets up and walks towards the bar and stumbles and falls nd the ring pops out of his coat and onto his finger. He suddenly disappears ad the Black Riders see where Frodo is and that he has the ring. he takes the ring off and Strider picks him up and races up the stairs into a room and talks to Frodo about the ring and the Evil Black Riders that are following him and the rest of the Hobbits. The other three hobbits find Strider with Frodo and Strider then again explains what is going on to them all being chased. Strider takes the four Hobbits to another Inn and waits as he watches the Black Riders enter the Prancing Pony and try to kill the Hobbits. The riders go to their room and try and kill the Hobbits. They come to find out that the Hobbits are not there and furiously ride off into the night.

The Next day Strider and the Hobbits leave and leave for Rivendell, where the Elvish people live. On their journey they encounter the Black Riders again and this time when Frodo puts the ring on he sees them as well as thy see him. He gets stabbed in the chest and is beginning to slowly die into another realm. Arwin an Elvish women finds them and takes Frodo to Rivendell her homeland. The Black Riders follow her to Rivendell as they are chasing her, she reaches her homeland and Frodo then passes and Arwin says some words and asks that everything she has, be given to Frodo.

Frodo survives and the Hobbits come to him and see that he is alright. He sees Gandolf and asks him what happened. Gandolf tells Frodo and then the call for all who live in Middle Earth send a messenger from the different parts of Middle Earth, to speak for their areas on behalf of what to do with the ring. Elrond and Gandolf speak before the council is gathered and Elrond the Chief Elf of Rivendell tells Gandolf the ring will not stay In Rivendell, that it must be destroyed in the fires of Mount Doom. Then the council gathers to discuss the what to do with the ring. They all begin to argue and then shortly there after Frodo stands up and tells them that he will take it. He tells them that he needs the help from whomever will come with him. Thus beginning the Fellowship of The Ring.

All seven of them set off on their journey to Mordor to destroy the ring. Strider the Ranger, also known as Argon, Boromir and the four hobbits, Frodo, Sam, Pippin, and merry. Gimli the Dwarf, and Legolas the Elf. Along the way they come upon Galadriel The Elf Queen of power and wisdom, talks with each one of the fellowship. She talks to Frodo later at night while everyone was sleeping. She shows Frodo things that will come to pass in Middle Earth if he does not destroy the ring.

The journey begins in the morning and the seven ride off on there way to Mordor. Saruman another Wizard sends Orcs to track down the seven and destroy them except for the Hobbits. When they were resting on the land they crossed to, Frodo is found by Boromir a man from Ministirith a land of men. He tries to take the ring from Frodo and Frodo tries to run away. He gets away and finds Aragon and tries to give him the ring. ragon looks at Frodo and tells him he knows he has to continue the journey alone. Sam comes with Frodo and they cross the river to the other side on their own personal Journey to get to Mordor. Orcs find their camp and attack, Boromir dies during the battle and the Orcs take off with two of the Hobbits, Pippin and Merry. Sam and Frodo begin their journey to Mordor and the rest of them try to track down the Orcs who took Merry and Pippin.

Chronology: This film is brought to us chronologically. It tells the story of how everything comes together one piece at a time. The birthday of Bilbo, the ring falling into Frodo’s hands and so on. The movie tells the story fluidly and it all comes together in the end with everyone having to take their own journey.

The effect this had on the audience as quite taking. It told us a story of how one ring could do so much damage and destruction it brought together a group of people and sent them on a journey to save everyone in Middle Earth.

Elements:The elements of the movie with the characters being brought together in order of the way the movie went. Introducing Gandolf the Wizard, to Frodo, to Bilbo, and how all the rest of the characters fell into place as the movie progressed further. Their was a little foreshadowing  the movie when Frodo was talking with the Elf Queen and showing him what would come to pass. This showed whether Frodo would choose to take what path that he knew he had to do.

Different Presentation: If the movie did not follow the chronological way, the audience would be lost as to what was happening in the movie. If the movie didn’t follow a certain order the audience wouldn’t know what the story was going to be about and how it would end. They wouldn’t get to know the characters in the movie, or what the plot was all about. The story would not have gone in a direction that would allow it to come to an ending the way the movie did.
